TapItData
|
We are commercializing the (granted) US patent Impact Initiated Automated Information Transfer!
Here's the concept:
when two objects bump into each other, we can determine which is "above" and which is "below."
Using this, we can flow information "down" from
the object that is above to the object that is below.
The internet is not needed!

your needs, contact Dan at

Example usage
- Suppose you are working in a conference room.
- Suppose you have a document on your computer screen,
and you want to print it out at a printer sitting next to you.
- How do you do it?
- If you don't have
TapItData,
you might:
- Determine the printer's network ID.
Look on the printer for it.
If it is not there, you will need to ask someone for it.
- Determine the network that is connected to the printer.
Likely, you will need to ask someone for it.
- Determine the password for the network that is connected to the printer.
Likely, you will need to ask someone for it.
- Go to your computer, log on to the network.
- Find the printer (there may be hundreds to select from) and connect to it.
- Print the document.
- This could take minutes, hours, or days!
- If you (and the printer) have
TapItData
you can:
- Tap an intermediary device, let's say your phone, to the bottom of your computer.
(Data flows down, so the phone now has the document.)
- Tap your phone to the top of the printer.
(Data flows down, so the printer now prints the document.)
- Done! Elapsed time, perhaps 10 seconds.
- (BTW: there are privacy safeguards so security is not an issue.)
If you wanted to print many documents from your computer to that printer,
then you may want the computer and the printer to be connected through the internet.
(This reproduces the original process which could take days.)
To accomplish this using
TapItData,
just reverse the order of the steps described above
- Tap your phone to the bottom of the printer.
(Data flows down, your phone now has the printer IP address and its password.)
- Tap your phone to the top of your computer.
(Data flows down, your computer is now connected to the printer.)
It's that easy.
Notes:
- A physical demo will be available soon!
- This technology is faster and more secure than Bluetooth.
- This technology does not require a network connection. (The iPhone's Quick Start and NameDrop do require a network connection.)
- This technology has many applications:
- This technology can easily connect computers to routers or networks.
- This technology supports rapid reprogramming of lab equipment.
